Catherine Vaughn Miss America Competitor | Crowning Connections Podcast

Catherine Vaughn, Miss America competitor, life coach, and advocate, joins the Crowning Connections podcast to share her inspiring journey. With decades of experience in pageantry, coaching, and community service, Catherine brings a perspective that reminds us the real crown isn’t the one on your head—it’s the one you carry in your heart.
Catherine began her pageant career in 1981, competing in both the USA and Miss America systems. Over the years, she has served as a state and national titleholder, coach, state director, and Director of Strategic Development at the national level. Beyond pageantry, Catherine is a Certified Life Coach and Consultant who helps others grow from their life experiences rather than be defined by them.
Her advocacy work is equally inspiring. She volunteers with the Brain Injury Association of America and their Maine Chapter, Soldier’s Angels, Wreaths Across America, Marleigh’s Ministries, and “Operation Beautiful.” She is also a dedicated volunteer within the Miss America system, continuing to support contestants as a mock judge and Judge’s Chair.
Catherine’s message is clear: pageantry enriches lives, but the most important crown is the one you hold in your heart. This belief has carried her—and those she mentors—through life with purpose and resilience.
